No built-in dictation in Notion
Notion does not have native dictation for writing page blocks. Its April 6, 2026 desktop release added voice input for speaking prompts to Notion AI, not for continuously dictating page text. AI Meeting Notes uses microphone input to transcribe meetings on plans with Notion AI, which is also distinct from direct text entry. macOS Dictation and Windows voice typing can work in a focused Notion block; WhisperJot adds a system-wide route with local engines.

Does Notion have built-in dictation for page content?
Notion's desktop voice input is designed for speaking prompts to Notion AI, rather than continuously dictating text into page blocks. Notion AI Meeting Notes can transcribe microphone input during meetings on plans with Notion AI, but that is a meeting-transcription feature, not general-purpose dictation for pages, cells, or comments.
How do I dictate into a Notion database cell?
Select the database cell so its text cursor is active, then start your operating system's dictation feature or use WhisperJot's global shortcut.
