Can doctors dictate directly into an EHR text field?
Yes. WhisperJot types into whatever app has focus, including generic EHR text fields, browser forms, and document editors. Place the cursor where the text belongs, press the global hotkey, and speak. It does not require an EHR plugin or partner integration.
Does medical dictation work without an internet connection?
Yes. The local engines run on your computer, so doctors can dictate while offline after the roughly 2.3 GB models download on first use. Jot Cloud is an opt-in alternative that needs a connection, runs only while selected, and never stores audio on our servers.
Where does WhisperJot keep dictated clinical text?
With the local engines (the default), audio is transcribed on your machine and nothing is uploaded. Transcription history is stored in a local SQLite database on that computer. The optional cloud library is opt-in and syncs transcripts and titles only, never audio, and its contents are deletable.
Can WhisperJot learn specialty terms and clinician names?
Yes. Doctors can teach WhisperJot recurring specialty terms, abbreviations, and names through custom vocabulary correction. Those user-taught entries help the intended spelling appear in future dictation. The resulting draft should still be reviewed in the same way as other clinical documentation.
How much does dictation software for doctors cost?
