Sign-in is required to download WhisperJot and to use the app. After that, it keeps working offline, but it must re-confirm the subscription within 21 days. There is no free trial; a 30-second browser demo is on the site.

On macOS, Sparkle checks every four hours when Check for updates automatically is on. Windows checks at launch and daily and can install silently. Linux is notice-only; your package manager performs the upgrade.

On macOS, Settings → Privacy → Diagnostics → Export… saves a text file of versions, permissions, and recent logs — never transcripts or vocabulary. Windows and Linux offer Save diagnostics…. Report a Problem… sends only when you press Send.
