How to check for WhisperJot updates
On macOS, Sparkle checks every four hours when Check for updates automatically is on. Windows checks at launch and daily and can install silently. Linux is notice-only; your package manager performs the upgrade.
How do updates work on a Mac?
macOS uses Sparkle. When Check for updates automatically is on in Settings → General, it checks every four hours. The menu bar includes Check for Updates…. You may see You're up to date or Couldn't check for updates.
After an update, Input Monitoring can look granted while hotkeys fail. Use Settings → General → Test your shortcut, then re-grant Input Monitoring and relaunch if needed.

Does Windows WhisperJot need me to run the setup EXE again?
Not for a normal update. Windows checks at launch and daily, verifies the installer signature, installs silently, and relaunches. Use tray → Check for updates… to look immediately. A full versioned WhisperJot setup EXE is still how you install the first time, and SmartScreen may warn in the days after a release.
