How do I export diagnostics on a Mac?
Settings → Privacy → Diagnostics → Export… saves a text file with app and macOS versions, permission status, system checks, settings as enums and booleans, and the last two hours of logs. It never includes transcripts, vocabulary, or history.
Logs also live in the unified log: log stream --predicate 'subsystem == "com.whisperjot.app"' or Console.app. Report a Problem… sends only when you press Send, with an optional previewable diagnostics attachment.
Where are diagnostics on Windows and Linux?
On Windows, Settings → Save diagnostics…. Logs live in %LOCALAPPDATA%\WhisperJot\logs. On Linux, Settings → Save diagnostics…. Logs live in ~/.local/share/WhisperJot/logs.
Crash reports are separate from this export. They are off by default, offered after a crash, and never include audio, transcripts, vocabulary, or account details.
Straight answers.
Does a diagnostics export include my dictation history?
No. On macOS the Export file includes versions, permission status, system checks, settings as enums or booleans, and the last two hours of logs. It never includes transcripts, vocabulary, or history. Windows and Linux Save diagnostics… is the matching control. Report a Problem… on Mac sends only when you press Send, and you can preview an optional diagnostics attachment.
How do I watch WhisperJot logs live on a Mac?
Use Console.app, or run log stream --predicate 'subsystem == "com.whisperjot.app"' in Terminal. That is the unified log, separate from the Privacy → Diagnostics → Export… text file, which covers the last two hours. Neither path is documented as including transcripts or vocabulary. On Linux, also try WHISPERJOT_DEBUG=1 if a model library fails to load.
Is Report a Problem the same as a crash report?
No. Report a Problem… sends only when you press Send, with an optional previewable diagnostics attachment. Crash reports are off by default and are asked about after a crash; they never include audio, transcripts, vocabulary, or account details. Use Export… or Save diagnostics… when you want a local text file to attach yourself.
