Why WhisperJot text is not inserted
If words never appear in the focused app, check Accessibility on Mac, whether the field is a password box, whether you switched apps after the hotkey, and whether the focused element can take text. Terminals and VMs often need a per-app insertion override.

macOS and Windows default to clipboard paste and restore your previous clipboard shortly after. You can switch to Unicode keystroke or, on Mac, Accessibility value. Linux tries wtype, then ydotool or dotool, then xdotool, with clipboard fallback.

Light cleanup (the default) applies punctuation, capitalization, and filler removal. Say new paragraph to split text. Optional spoken press enter, off by default, submits after insert. Self-correction turns 2pm, no wait, 3pm into 3pm — there is no separate scratch-that command documented here.

Words correct spelling and can include sounds-like variants. Shortcuts expand a spoken trigger into text and support {date}, {time}, and {clipboard}. Both apply at every cleanup level, as whole words, case-insensitive.

Light cleanup is the default and uses on-device rules. Medium and High add a local LLM, so the LLM is off by default. The model stays on localhost. Utterances of eight words or fewer skip the LLM.

Per-app tone is on by default. WhisperJot can auto-detect Formal email, Casual chat, Code/verbatim, Structured notes, or General, or you can pin a tone and cleanup level per app under Settings → Cleanup → Per-app cleanup.

The language picker offers Auto-detect plus 15 languages. For non-English speech, use Jot Local Pro (multilingual) or opt-in Jot Cloud. Windows and Linux Jot Local is English-only. Cleanup rules are English-only.
