The language picker offers Auto-detect plus 15 languages. For non-English speech, use Jot Local Pro (multilingual) or opt-in Jot Cloud. Windows and Linux Jot Local is English-only. Cleanup rules are English-only.
Which languages can WhisperJot transcribe?
The picker includes Auto-detect plus English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Hindi, Arabic, Polish, and Turkish. macOS defaults to English. Windows and Linux default to auto.
For non-English use Jot Local Pro with its multilingual model, or the opt-in Jot Cloud engine. Windows and Linux Jot Local is English-only. macOS Jot Local is Parakeet multilingual v3.
Does cleanup work in languages other than English?
Cleanup is English-only. Rule-based Light cleanup — fillers, capitalization, punctuation — is not documented as applying to other languages. Plan on rawer text when dictating in Spanish, Japanese, or any listed non-English language.
Translate to English is macOS only, Jot Local Pro or Auto only, and runs on-device. It is not available on Windows or Linux, and it is not a Jot Cloud feature in this help.

Which engine should I use to dictate in Spanish or Japanese?
Use Jot Local Pro, which uses a multilingual model, or the opt-in Jot Cloud engine. On Windows and Linux, Jot Local is English-only, so it is the wrong choice for those languages. On a Mac, Jot Local is Parakeet multilingual v3, but Jot Local Pro remains the engine called out for non-English work alongside Cloud. Cleanup stays English-only either way.
Can WhisperJot translate my dictation into English?
On macOS, a Translate to English toggle is available with Jot Local Pro or Auto only, and it runs on-device. It is not available on Windows or Linux. It is not described as a feature of the opt-in Jot Cloud engine. Cleanup rules remain English-only even when you transcribe another language.
