Why WhisperJot text is not inserted
If words never appear in the focused app, check Accessibility on Mac, whether the field is a password box, whether you switched apps after the hotkey, and whether the focused element can take text. Terminals and VMs often need a per-app insertion override.
Why did my dictation go to the clipboard instead of the app?
On macOS, without Accessibility, dictations only reach History and the clipboard. The HUD can show no Accessibility — text will be copied, not typed. If WhisperJot is listed in Accessibility but off, turn it on rather than adding it again.
Nothing is inserted into password or other secure fields. If you switched apps after pressing the hotkey, the text goes to the clipboard instead, with an explanation. If the focused element cannot take text — a button, the desktop — the paste is refused rather than lost.
On Windows, elevated admin windows and the UAC screen cannot receive input.
When should I add a per-app insertion override?
On macOS, Settings → General → Insert text via can be overridden per app for terminals, VMs, and remote desktops with Add App…. VMware Fusion, Parallels, UTM, Microsoft Remote Desktop, and Citrix automatically get keystroke mode.
Windows offers Clipboard paste, Unicode keystroke, and UI Automation as a per-app override. Linux uses wtype, ydotool or dotool, then xdotool, with clipboard fallback — install those tools if insertion never happens.

I granted every permission and text still only copies. What next?
On Mac, confirm Accessibility is on, not merely listed. Try a plain text field in TextEdit. Watch the HUD for the no Accessibility caption. If you moved focus after the hotkey, the clipboard path is expected. Then check the insertion method and any per-app override. On Linux, install wtype or xdotool if the insertion chain has nothing to run.
