How to install WhisperJot on a Mac
WhisperJot on Mac is a menu-bar app for macOS 14 Sonoma or later on Apple silicon. Download it, sign in in the browser, finish setup, and a local model downloads once so you can press a hotkey and dictate.

On Windows, install WhisperJot with the per-user WhisperJot-<version>-setup.exe from FastProducts LLC. It needs no administrator account and does not require a separate .NET runtime. The app lives in the system tray.

Linux builds are in beta. Install the .deb with apt or unpack the .tar.gz and run app/whisperjot on a modern 64-bit distro (x64 or arm64) with Wayland or X11. Flatpak is not offered.

Hold the hotkey, speak, and release to insert text into the focused app. The HUD shows Listening… and live partials with local engines. Push-to-talk is the default recording mode on Mac and Windows.

WhisperJot offers Jot Local for short utterances, Jot Local Pro for long-form accuracy, opt-in Jot Cloud, and Auto, which picks Local or Local Pro per utterance. Mac defaults to Jot Local; Windows and Linux default to Jot Local Pro.

Local engines download a model on first use. Settings → Model shows Download Now and progress. Jot Local is about 500 MB on macOS and about 460 MB to download on Windows and Linux. The opt-in Jot Cloud engine downloads nothing.
