Meeting export and audio retention
Export a meeting as Markdown or plain text, copy timestamped lines, or reveal the WAV on disk. Meeting audio retention is 90 days by default. Meeting transcripts are never auto-deleted.
How do I export or copy a WhisperJot meeting?
Export Markdown (.md) or plain text (.txt). You can copy timestamped lines to the clipboard, reveal the WAV on disk, rename the meeting, or delete it. Meetings are capped at six hours. Optional cloud library sync is opt-in and syncs text, titles, and timestamps — never audio.
How long does WhisperJot keep meeting audio and transcripts?
Meeting audio retention is 90 days by default. You can choose 30, 90, or 180 days, or never. Meeting transcripts are never auto-deleted, even after the WAV is removed. That is separate from dictation Keep dictation audio (on by default on macOS, 14 days by default) and from History age limit, which is off by default.
Privacy → Clear History Now clears stored history. Delete All App Data… on macOS also removes meeting recordings. On Windows and Linux, delete the app data folder after uninstall if you want those files gone.
Straight answers.
Will WhisperJot delete my meeting transcript after 90 days?
No. Meeting transcripts are never auto-deleted. The 90-day default applies to meeting audio, and you can pick 30, 90, or 180 days, or never. Export Markdown or plain text if you want a copy outside the app. Optional cloud library sync is opt-in and syncs text, titles, and timestamps, not the WAV. Clear History Now is the manual way to remove stored history.
How do I get the meeting WAV off my computer?
Use reveal the WAV on disk, then copy or archive that file yourself. WhisperJot does not upload meeting audio. Opt-in cloud library sync, if you enable it, still does not send audio. When retention expires, the WAV can be deleted while the transcript stays. Delete All App Data… on a Mac removes meeting recordings along with other local files.
What's the difference between meeting export and History export?
A meeting can export its own Markdown or plain text and copy timestamped lines. History export writes Markdown grouped by day for dictation history. Re-transcribe on a History row is for saved dictation audio and never types into an app. Keep the two retention controls straight: meeting audio versus macOS Keep dictation audio, which defaults to 14 days.
