What WhisperJot keeps on your device
With Jot Local or Jot Local Pro, transcription runs on your computer by default and history stays in a local database. The opt-in Jot Cloud engine sends audio only while it is selected; that audio is never stored on our servers.

Jot Cloud is an opt-in cloud engine. First use shows a consent dialog titled Jot Cloud sends audio to the cloud. Cancel keeps the previous engine. You can switch back anytime from Settings → Model → Engine or the menu-bar picker.

Transcripts are stored locally unless you turn Store transcription history off. On macOS, Keep dictation audio is on by default with a 14-day retention. History can re-transcribe saved audio; that never types into an app.

Privacy → Clear History Now removes stored transcripts. On macOS, Delete All App Data… wipes history, saved audio, meetings, models, and settings, signs you out, and quits. Account deletion on the account page cancels any subscription.

Crash recovery is on by default. If WhisperJot quits mid-dictation, the next launch transcribes leftover audio and saves it to History or Copy last. It never types into whatever app is focused then.
