Speak it.
It just appears.

Your thoughts move faster than your fingers. Press a hotkey, talk, and clean text lands in whatever app you're in — anywhere on your Mac. Transcribed on your Mac by default — so even sensitive work stays private — or on Jot Cloud when you'd rather keep your machine light.

Why WhisperJot

Dictation that feels
instant and invisible.

Get ideas out of your head at the speed you speak — clean, ready-to-send text right where your cursor is, on your device by default.

Speak your mind — even the sensitive stuff

Dictate client notes, contracts, and half-formed ideas without wondering who's listening: the local engines never send audio off your device and work fully offline. Privacy isn't a setting, it's the default. Jot Cloud, our cloud engine, is the other way to run: no multi-GB model download, no RAM pressure, fast on any hardware — opt-in, clearly labeled, and your audio is never stored on our servers.

Never lose your train of thought

Hold to push-to-talk, tap to toggle — your words paste straight into the focused app. No window-switching, no copy-paste round trip.

As fast as you can talk

With the local engines, your words appear while you're still speaking and the final text lands right as you release the hotkey — no spinner, no waiting to see what it heard.

Short notes and long memos both come out right

Fire off a quick reply or dictate a ten-minute memo — Auto picks the engine that fits each recording (Jot Local for snappy short phrases, Jot Local Pro for long-form accuracy), so each recording gets the right engine. Both run locally; Jot Cloud, our opt-in cloud engine (audio never stored on our servers), is the third option when you'd rather skip the model download and RAM.

Paste it and hit send

Talk naturally — ums, false starts and all. Filler is stripped and punctuation fixed before the text lands, so you hit send instead of editing.

Dictate all day — one flat price

No meters, no per-minute caps — one simple $99/year plan covers both local engines, the optional Jot Cloud engine (fair use applies), and every supported platform.

How it works

Three steps. Zero friction.

01

Press your hotkey

Hold fn (or press ⌥ Space) from any app. The floating HUD appears instantly.

02

Just talk

Speak naturally. A live waveform and partial text show WhisperJot keeping pace — on-device by default.

03

Release — it's typed

Let go and clean text is pasted right where your cursor was. Back to work in a blink.

Private by default

Your voice is yours.
It stays on your Mac by default.

Most dictation tools stream your microphone to a server whether you like it or not. WhisperJot ships with the cloud off: every recording is processed locally on Apple Silicon and then discarded. That's mode one of two — the cloud is a choice you make, never one made for you.

  • The local engines run their speech models right on your device — your audio is never uploaded, no one else processes it, and they work fully offline.
  • Prefer to keep your machine light? Jot Cloud, our one cloud engine, transcribes on our servers instead — opt-in, clearly labeled, it asks before its first use, it's used only while you have it selected, and we never store your audio on our servers. No ad tracking, no microphone analytics either way.
  • Optional LLM cleanup runs locally on 127.0.0.1.
  • Optional cloud library: your transcripts sync to whisperjot.com only when you turn it on — transcripts and titles, never audio, deletable anytime.

Before you decide

Quick answers.

Does my audio ever leave my computer?

Not unless you tell it to. By default transcription runs on your machine using local models, and the optional LLM text cleanup talks only to 127.0.0.1 — turn your Wi-Fi off and dictation keeps working. The one exception is Jot Cloud, our optional cloud engine: if you select it, your dictation audio is sent to whisperjot.com servers for transcription and is never stored there.

Why would I use the cloud engine?

To keep your computer light. The local engines download a speech model (Jot Local is about 2.3 GB) and use your machine's memory and Neural Engine while you dictate. Jot Cloud, our opt-in cloud engine, skips all of that — no model download, no RAM pressure — and transcribes fast on any hardware, which makes it a good fit for older or low-memory machines. The tradeoff, stated plainly: your dictation audio is sent to whisperjot.com, transcribed, and never stored there. You can switch between the two modes anytime.

Is there a free trial?

Not yet. WhisperJot is a new product and keeps billing simple: no meters, cancel anytime, and your plan stays active for the full period you paid for. The browser demo shows exactly what the app does, and you're welcome to email a question before buying.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes, self-serve — open your account and manage billing through the Stripe portal. Cancelling stops the renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.

What platforms are supported?

macOS 14+ on Apple Silicon is the stable, reference platform. Windows is stable and ships alongside macOS; Linux builds are in beta. All are included in the same plan — see how that compares to other dictation apps.

Stop typing. Start talking.

Download WhisperJot and give your hands a break — your words appear faster than you can type them.
