Use consistent speaker names
Choose labels for the host and each guest before editing the transcript, and start each turn on a new line.
To transcribe a podcast, work from the episode audio, type or generate a draft, and check it while listening. Add host and guest labels manually. On Mac, WhisperJot imports a saved podcast audio file through Transcribe Audio File… and puts the result in History for text export. Write show notes separately; WhisperJot does not provide summaries or speaker labels.
Use the episode you intend to publish or quote as your reference. A written transcript and an edited episode summary serve different purposes.
Choose labels for the host and each guest before editing the transcript, and start each turn on a new line.
Check the exact passage against the episode before reusing it as a quote.
Keep your checked transcript as the record of speech and create a separate summary for the episode description.
The workflow here uses a saved audio file on Mac. Choose Transcribe Audio File… from the WhisperJot menu bar, select the episode audio, and export the result from History as text. A podcast URL or feed is not the input described here; prepare the audio file before following these steps.
WhisperJot does not provide speaker labels. Add them yourself after exporting the draft as text, using a new line for each speaker turn. Replay overlapping speech or uncertain changes carefully. A consistent label for each host and guest makes the checked transcript easier to follow without changing what they said.
Use the checked transcript as material for writing show notes, but keep the two documents distinct. The transcript records the episode's speech; show notes are an edited description you write from it. WhisperJot does not generate summaries. Check quotations and names against the audio before using them in either document.
