To turn a voice memo into text, play the memo in your recording app and type short sections into a note. On Mac, if you have the memo as a local audio file, choose WhisperJot's Transcribe Audio File… command and export the result from History as text. - Identify the memo. Open the saved memo you want to transcribe. Give your text note a matching title so you can return to the correct recording during review.
- Type one thought at a time. Play a short section, pause, and type the words. Repeat until the memo is covered. Mark unclear passages with their playback time rather than inventing a word.
- Review before organising. Listen again while reading. Check names and numbers, then split the text into paragraphs. If you turn it into a task list, keep that edited note separate from the transcript.

How do I turn a voice memo into text?
Play the saved memo and type it in short sections, pausing whenever needed. If the memo is already an audio file on your Mac, WhisperJot can make a draft through Transcribe Audio File… in the menu bar. Open History, export as text, and check the draft against the memo before reusing it.
Can I import a voice memo directly from my phone?
This guide describes a saved audio file available on your Mac. It does not provide a phone-to-Mac transfer or sharing menu. Once you have that file, select it through WhisperJot's Mac menu bar and review the result in History. You can also transcribe manually by playing the memo in its original app.
How should I clean up a rambling voice memo?
First make a transcript you have checked against the recording. Then create a separate edited note, grouping related ideas into paragraphs or a task list. Keep uncertain names or numbers marked until you replay them. This separates what you actually said from the shorter version you want to use later.
