How to uninstall WhisperJot on Mac, Windows, and Linux
On a Mac, open WhisperJot and choose Settings → General → Uninstall…; it quits and moves itself to the Trash. On Windows use Settings → Apps, and on Linux apt or delete the extracted folder. Each platform lets you keep or delete your history and models.
Uninstall WhisperJot on a Mac
WhisperJot is a menu-bar app with no Dock icon, and Finder won't move an app to the Trash while it is running. Uninstall it from inside the app instead.
- Double-click WhisperJot in Applications. Because it is already running, this opens its Settings window, even when the menu-bar icon is hidden behind the notch.
- In Settings → General, click Uninstall… (it is also in the menu-bar menu and in Settings → Privacy).
- Choose Uninstall to delete your history, saved audio, downloaded models, and settings too, or Uninstall, Keep My Data to reinstall later without downloading models again.
- WhisperJot quits, removes itself from your login items, and moves itself to the Trash.
Older Mac versions without an Uninstall button
Download WhisperJot again from the download page and open the disk image. Double-click Uninstall WhisperJot inside it: it quits WhisperJot for you, works with every version, and asks whether to keep your data. If you'd rather do it by hand:
Quit WhisperJot. Click its icon in the menu bar and choose Quit WhisperJot. If you can't see the icon, open Activity Monitor, search for WhisperJot, select it, click the stop button, and choose Quit. Then drag WhisperJot from Applications to the Trash.
To remove its data too, delete the WhisperJot and FluidAudio folders in ~/Library/Application Support, and remove WhisperJot under System Settings → General → Login Items.
Uninstall WhisperJot on Windows or Linux
Windows: right-click the WhisperJot tray icon and choose Quit WhisperJot, then uninstall from Settings → Apps. Delete the %LOCALAPPDATA%\WhisperJot folder if you want the database, models, and logs gone too.
Linux: run sudo apt remove whisperjot for the .deb, or delete the extracted folder for the tarball. Then remove ~/.local/share/WhisperJot and the autostart entry.

Why does my Mac say WhisperJot can't be moved to the Trash?
macOS won't trash an app that is still running, and WhisperJot keeps running in the menu bar after you close its windows. Double-click WhisperJot in Applications to open its Settings, then use General → Uninstall…, which quits the app and moves it to the Trash for you. On older versions, quit it from the menu bar or Activity Monitor first.
Does uninstalling WhisperJot cancel my subscription?
No. Removing the app from a computer does not change billing. Cancel from the whisperjot.com account page with Manage billing, or in the App Store or Google Play if you subscribed there. Your plan covers every platform, so you can uninstall on one computer and keep using WhisperJot on another.
